Hoboken's confirmed waterfront calendar for the rest of 2026 has a south end and a north end. Pier A Park, at 100 Sinatra Drive, has an artisan market on four Sundays and the Turkey Trot on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Pier 13, at 1301 Sinatra Drive, becomes a Christmas tree lot the day after Thanksgiving. Between them sits 901 Sinatra Drive, the old Union Dry Dock site, where Maritime Park is under construction.
On foot, that middle stretch is the part that makes the whole route work. The Hudson River Waterfront Walkway past the construction site reopened in March, after the bulkhead under it was rebuilt. The street beside it is still a work zone. Through the holidays, anyone heading from Pier A to Pier 13 will get there along the river. Sinatra Drive will be slower.
The Walkway Reopened in March. The Street Beside It Is Still a Work Zone.
On March 6, 2026, the City of Hoboken reopened a key segment of the waterfront walkway, along with a temporary multi-use path on the east side of Sinatra Drive. The path runs from about Fifth Street to Sinatra Drive North and is meant for pedestrians, runners, and cyclists. The reopening came after crews replaced and stabilized about 777 linear feet of bulkhead. The city also reported new promenade pavers, ADA improvements, benches, railings, drinking fountains, and life-saving flotation devices.
The road is another matter. The city's construction updates page says the eastern lane of Sinatra Drive is closed around the clock from about Fifth Street north to Sinatra Drive North. Only northbound cars can use that stretch, so southbound drivers have to take Hudson Street or Washington Street. The sidewalk on the Sinatra Drive side is also closed to pedestrians around the clock inside the construction area, and Hoboken Police are on site to help with detours.
That leaves the walkway and the multi-use path as the continuous public route between the two piers. This walk will look different in a year or two. Maritime Park covers 8.7 acres, and the city describes it as a milestone in Hoboken's decades-long effort to build a continuous, publicly accessible waterfront. Phase I includes:
- A skatepark for all skill levels, with a 6-foot half pipe pocket, a 3- to 4-foot flow bowl, mini ramps, and beginner-friendly ledges
- A public plaza inspired by the nearby Castle Point bluffs, with natural materials, seating, and a water fountain
- An extension of the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway
- A learning plant nursery and tree staging area to grow native plantings for later phases
There is no completion date on the calendar. At the December 2025 groundbreaking, the city said Phase I construction would "begin in earnest in the first quarter of 2026." The bid notice gives the contractor 510 days from the notice to proceed, but it doesn't say when that notice was issued. For this season, bulkhead installation is still listed as active work, on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Pier A Holds the South End
Pier A has the most dates. Main Street Pops Artisan Market sets up on the Pier A Walkway along Sinatra Drive South on Sunday, November 8, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Its remaining 2026 Hoboken dates are December 6, 13, and 20. The market changes locations around town during the year. For its last stretch of 2026, it is right on the river, with handmade goods from local makers plus live music and family activities.
November 8 is also the last day of Hoboken Art Month, which runs October 1 through November 8. The 45th annual Artists Studio Tour runs November 7 and 8, from noon to 6 p.m., at studios across Hoboken. It opens with a reception at the Hoboken Historical Museum on Friday, November 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. On that Sunday, two different sets of makers are showing their work at once, one group on Pier A and the other in studios inland. The market opens an hour before the studios do.
The following Saturday heads inland. Hoboken Pizza Fest runs November 14 from 1 to 5 p.m. Check-in is at Urban CoalHouse Pizza + Bar, 116 14th Street, and the pizza crawl moves around town from there.
The waterfront gets its biggest crowd a week later. The Hoboken Turkey Trot is Saturday, November 21, and starts and finishes at Pier A Park. Runners can choose a USATF-certified 10K, a 5K run/walk, or a 1-mile fun run. The 1-mile starts at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K and 10K at 9:30 a.m. Early bib pickup is Friday, November 20, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hackensack Meridian Health, 5 Marine View Plaza, Suite 101. You can pick up for friends or family if you bring a copy of their confirmation email. There is limited pickup at the start on race day. The organizers promise music and hot chocolate after the race.
Pier 13 Changes Jobs After Thanksgiving
Pier 13 runs as a summer venue. Its own website labels this year's program "Summer 2026," and the last featured event it lists is October 10. The next use of the pier comes from a separate business.
Pier One Tree, a Hoboken-based Christmas tree company that is not affiliated with Pier 13, returns to 1301 Sinatra Drive from November 27 through December 20. Hoboken Girl reported that this is the company's second year on the pier. It sells Canadian Fraser fir and balsam trees, wreaths, tree stands, and other holiday supplies. According to Pier One Tree, The Holiday Collective will decorate the space this year. There will also be a mailbox for letters to Santa, paired with a matching donation to Emma's Wish Foundation. Hoboken Girl's report adds weekly Santa appearances, giveaways, prizes, and treats through the season.
November 27 is the Friday after Thanksgiving. The Turkey Trot finishes at Pier A six days earlier, so the waterfront's busiest weekends shift from the south end to the north end over that one week.
December 20 Closes Both Ends
Through December, Pier A and Pier 13 run side by side. On December 6, 13, and 20, Main Street Pops is on Pier A while Pier One Tree is open on Pier 13, so a Sunday route that covers both runs right past the Maritime Park fencing. December 20 is the last market day of the year and also the last day on the pier for the tree lot.

Getting to the River While the Streets Are Torn Up
Maritime Park isn't the only construction affecting these trips. The city's construction schedules can change with weather and logistics. For daily road closures, the city points residents to the Hoboken Office of Emergency Management's X account, @HobokenOEM.
- Sinatra Drive at Maritime Park. Northbound only from about Fifth Street to Sinatra Drive North. Southbound traffic uses Hudson or Washington Street.
- Grove Street at the Jersey City line. For the Rebuild by Design flood-protection project, Grove Street between Observer Highway in Hoboken and 18th Street in Jersey City was scheduled to close in both directions starting on or about November 2. The closure is expected to last about six months, with detours to Marin Boulevard and Jersey Avenue.
- 14th Street. Closed to vehicles between Washington and Bloomfield Streets for the northern floodwall work. Pedestrian access to homes and businesses stays open. Pizza Fest check-in at 116 14th Street is on the same street.
- Hudson Place and Observer Highway. The permanent Hoboken Connect bus station is open. Phase two of the Hudson Place work began October 19, and temporary sidewalk and bike-lane changes on Observer Highway are expected through about December 2026.
For trips to Pier A and Pier 13 this season, the walkway and the temporary path give pedestrians and cyclists a continuous route along the river. Sinatra Drive between them stays limited to one direction while the bulkhead work continues.
Buildings along Sinatra Drive will feel the end of the Maritime Park work more than most, since it changes both the view and the walk outside the door. If you own on the waterfront and want to understand how a finished park could change the way your building is marketed, Scott Waldman follows these projects closely and can walk you through the numbers.
